Biography

The year 2007 marks the beginning of my 32nd year practicing law in the State of California. I graduated from the University of LaVerne and began working as an attorney for my father's law office in Southern California. I had actually been working as a law clerk for him during the three years of law school so my legal experience now stretches over 35 years. When my father retired I assumed the lead attorney position and typically supervised three other lawyers and a staff of about ten.

Upon moving to the San Francisco Bay Area several years ago I concentrated the focus of the practice to estate planning and joined the National Network of Estate Planning Attorneys. During that time I co-authored the book GENERATIONS which was a collaboration with other members of the National Network. Also during that time I developed a very successful twelve-unit continuing education course for insurance professionals and taught that class to several hundred insurance and financial professionals in Northern California. A natural offshoot of that class was the same estate-planning seminar that I offer throughout the Bay Area today.

The continuing education course and estate planning seminars provided quite a large volume of clients. The law firm known as Davidson & Sheehan expanded to five attorneys, became Davidson, Sheehan & Jewel, and successfully created living trust based estate plans for thousands of Bay Area individuals and families. Due to life style and personal decisions the partners decided to dissolve the relationship and now continue equally successful estate planning practices in different Bay Area locals. My main office continues to be in Oakland City Center with a branch office in San Jose. I now have a solo practice with my wife Joelle as my administrative assistant and one paralegal. This arrangement works extremely well and allows us to give our clients unparalleled personalized representation that is often missing in larger firms.
